The Heather Farm Group Picnic areas are turfed with some shade, but there is no access to running water or electricity. Ample parking is approximately 50 yards away. Vehicles are not permitted on the park paths or turf for loading, unloading or any other reason. Please advise your caterer, or anyone else bringing heavy loads, of this restriction. Restrooms are about 100 yards away, just outside the Clarke Memorial Swim Center. Reservations are from dawn until dusk.
The large picnic area has seating for 104 (13 picnic tables with seating for 8 each) as well as six standard-size barbecues. Maximum use: 300 people. The small picnic area has seating for 16 (2 picnic tables with seating for 8 each) as well as one standard-size barbecue. Maximum use: 30 people.

Larkey Park Group Picnic Area is turfed with some shade and a drinking fountain. There is no water faucet, and no electricity. A small parking lot is approximately 50 yards away. Vehicles are not permitted on the park paths or turf for loading, unloading or any other reason. Please advise your caterer, or anyone else bringing heavy loads, of this restriction. Restrooms are 150 yards away at the south side of the Lindsay Wildlife Museum building. Reservations are from dawn to dusk. No alcohol is allowed in Larkey Park.
The large group picnic area has seating for 104 (13 tables with seating for 8 each) and four standard-size barbecues. Maximum use: 300 people. For a medium group picnic area, the large area may be divided into two separate picnic areas (either 6 or 7 tables, with two barbecues in each area), with seating for up to 48 or 54 people. Maximum use: 75 people.

Jump Houses and Inflatables require a permit for use in a Walnut Creek Park. Please call (925) 943-5858 for more information on Jump House permits.
Heather Farm Park facilities include the Clarke Swim Center (925) 943-5856, 10 tennis courts at the Walnut Creek Tennis Center (925) 945-0105, one sand volleyball court, playgrounds, five softball fields, soccer field, basketball court, two lakes (fishing is allowed in the cement pond adjacent to the community center ONLY), snack shack (summer months only) and exercise par course. The sand volleyball court can be reserved for use in conjunction with your picnic. The volleyball net is permanently affixed to the poles, but you must bring your own volleyball. A maximum of four hours may be reserved. |

Larkey Park facilities include the Larkey Swim Center (925) 943-5856, Lindsay Wildlife Museum (925) 935-1978, four tennis courts, one sand volleyball court, two horseshoe pits, playgrounds and basketball court. The sand volleyball courts can be reserved for use in conjunction with your picnic. The volleyball net is permanently affixed to the poles, but you must bring your own volleyball. A maximum of four hours may be reserved.
Alcohol is not allowed in Larkey Park.
Group Picnic Area Fees:
Large picnic area: $250 per day. Medium picnic area: $150 per day. Small picnic area: $50 per day. Courts and fields: $28 per hour, one-hour minimum, four-hour maximum
Conditions: Picnic permit applications for the current year will be taken beginning the first business day of March. Permits are not transferable to another group. All fees are subject to change without notice. In case of a rain-out, you may reserve any other open date without charge. If you wish to change your date for other reasons, the transfer fee is $25 (includes changing because of hot weather). No refunds for no shows or for cancellations less than 30 working days in advance of your use date. Refunds for cancellations made more than 30 days in advance are subject to a $25 service charge and may take up to three weeks to process.

Community Centers
Civic Park Community Center at 1375 Civic Drive is nestled among oak and redwood trees and features immediate access to large grassy areas. This Center has several rooms available for rental, the largest of which accommodates 225 people and the smallest of which holds up to 65. A large, lovely gazebo (pictured at right) is also available. Come by for a tour or call (925) 943-5853 for reservation information between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Heather Farm Community Center at 301 N. San Carlos Drive sits comfortably in the middle of beautiful Heather Farm Park, directly off Ygnacio Valley Road. This attractive lakeside space has banquet seating for up to 200, a kitchen, wet bar and a large outdoor patio/deck. A meeting room is also available which will accommodate up to

Community Center Rental Fees
Your rental costs will depend upon your rental category, the room used, how long it is used, miscellaneous fees, and any applicable damage fees.
HOURLY RENTAL RATE: The minimum rental period is two
hours Sunday through Friday, 10 hours on Saturdays. Rates are per hour and will not be prorated for part of an hour.

Tice Valley Gymnasium at 2055 Tice Valley Boulevard offers three rental options: a classroom, an exercise room, and a gym comprised of three full-size courts that may be rented as a whole or by individual court.
The Classroom can accommodate up to 51 people and has a wall- mounted whiteboard, tables, chairs, flip charts and
TV/DVD/VCR. Cost is
$50 an hour for non-profit groups and $60 per hour for for-profit groups.
The Exercise Room can accommodate up to 112 people and features a wooden suspension floor, wall-length mirror, ballet bar, stereo system, aerobic steps, weights and exercise mats. Cost is
$50 per hour for non-profit groups and $60 per hour for for-profit groups.
The Gymnasium features three full-size courts. Courts 1 and 3 have bleachers, while chairs can be set up for Court 2. Tables and chairs are also available for the court. Each court can accommodate 449 people, with a combined total of 1,347 for all three courts. Equipment is available for basketball, volleyball, badminton and indoor soccer. Athletic shoes must be worn for "active events." Cost per court is
$50 per hour for non-profit groups and $60 per hour for for-profit groups. Call (925) 256-3572 for more information.
Heather Farm Sports Fields includes a ball field or volleyball court.
Cost per field is $25/hour for Non-Profit organizations and $30/hour for Private or Commercial
groups. The cost for the maximum field/season for community organizations
(70 hours) is $1750.
