like to offer everyone the opportunity to become a Jr. Lifeguard, Lifeguard, or
Water Safety Instructor
The City of Walnut Creek is proud to have two municipal swimming facilities:
Clarke Memorial Swim Center
1750 Heather Drive (in Heather Farm Park)
Larkey Swim Center
2771 Buena Vista Avenue (in Larkey park)
Requirements:
Applicants need not have job experience or
current lifeguard certifications, but must be able to swim. Applicants should
display a good work ethic, sense of teamwork, and a willingness to help
strengthen our community and foster human development through the exciting field
of aquatics.

Summer Program: June 16 - Sep 31
Staff Training: June 16-20
LIFEGUARD / SWIM INSTRUCTOR
15 years and older
$9.00 – $11/ hr. + swim instructor incentives
Responsibilities:
Provide safety for our patrons.
Enforce pool rules and regulations.
Instruct swim classes for all ages.
Supervise aquatic related activities.
Administer First Aid and CPR.
Provide customer service to patrons.
Rescue swimmers in distress.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
We hire on the provision that you pass our lifeguard training class (Ellis &
Associates international lifeguard training program). Swim 200 yards using
freestyle & breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes, retrieve 10bls brick from
bottom of diving well.
Maintain a high level of training and professionalism.
Aquatic experience desirable.
Work a 25-40 hour week.
JR. LIFEGUARD / TRAINEE
(Limited number of positions are available)
14 years old
$8.00 hr.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Assist lifeguards with the Lifeguarding daily duties
Assist in helping swim instructors teach swim lessons
Provide customer service to all participants.
Maintain pool and bathroom areas (clean up)
Work in concession stand (requires cash handling & customer service skills)
Work a 15-25 hour week
