Membership Drive
A $7.00 yearly membership fee entitles you to many benefits within the Senior's Club including discounts on special events and class registration fees, great prices on local and international trips, free social services and a variety of day activities. You will also receive a monthly newsletter with a listing of all the Club activities and services. To join, come by the Civic Park Community Center between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm., Monday through Friday or call 943-5851 if you would like more information.
Walnut Creek Seniors' Club
 Ready to kick-start your retirement? Join the Walnut Creek Seniors’ Club. You’ll discover exciting recreational, social and volunteer opportunities. Visit the Civic Park Community Center, a place for active adults, age 50 and better, where a dynamic, successful recreation program flourishes with more than 2,500 members.
The Seniors Club provides an upbeat staff, friendship and stimulating programs and services. If you haven't found us yet, a lot of fun awaits you.
The Seniors Club, a non-profit organization with an Advisory Board and elected officers, publishes a monthly newsletter to keep members current on special events, classes, services and travel opportunities. Call 943-5851 for a complimentary newsletter.
Annual dues for January thru December are $7. Members enjoy discounts on special events, savings on local and international trips, and 10-20% off senior classes. Free social services for financial counseling, blood pressure checks, medical insurance counseling, income tax preparation, will preparation and legal advice are available. Senior Services
BART tickets are available to seniors 65 and older for $9. ($24 value).
Blood Pressure Screening, 9:30-11 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month on a drop-in basis. Call 943-5851 for more information.
Case Management: is available through Diablo Valley Foundation for free in-home assessments and consultation. Call 945-8040 for an appointment.
County Connection: Bus passes are available. Call 943-5851 for more information.
Investment Counseling: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month. Call 943-5851 for an appointment. FREE.
Home Chore and Respite counseling: a free service provided by Senior Outreach Services that refers affordable home care workers to elders in need of assistance. Call 937-8311 for more information.
Hot Meals: served at noon, Monday through Thursday, and 11:30 am, Friday, to anyone over 60 years. Call 937-7310, 10 am-noon one day ahead for a reservation. Suggested donation is $2.
Medical Insurance Counseling: held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 1:45-3:15 p.m., by appointment only. Call 943-5851. Have your policy evaluated or bills examined.
Pedicures and Manicures: every other Thursday, 2-4 p.m. Call 943-5851 for an appointment.
Senior Information: available through the Contra Costa County Office on Aging. Call 1-800-510-2020.
Senior legal services: free consultations with an attorney every second Thursday from 11 am-2 p.m. Call 943-5851 for an appointment.
Simple Wills Preparation: Simple wills available the first Monday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Call 943-5851 for an appointment.
Services for the Deaf
The Walnut Creek Deaf Seniors' Club meets every Wednesday at the Civic Park Community Center Lounge, from 9:30 am to 4 p.m. Deaf seniors from all over the Bay Area gather to enjoy informative speakers, table and card games and parties. You can go many places in Walnut Creek with the Walnut Creek Seniors’ Club Mini Bus Service! Just call 933-1434 from 9:00-9:30 am the day before you need a ride. To make a reservation for Monday, please call the Friday before. Service runs Monday through Friday from 9:15 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:15 pm-3:30 p.m. There are some limitations to our services. Please call 943-5851 for more information. You must be a Walnut Creek Seniors Club members to be eligible for transportation.
Please call 943-5851 if you are interesting in joining the dynamic transportation crew! Positions include drivers, dispatchers or shotgun riders. Drivers need a working knowledge of Walnut Creek streets, patience, a good driving record and a sense of humor.
